The inaugural release of Two Paddocks Riesling. An estate grown single block selection made from Two Paddocks’ own Redbank Vineyard at Earnscleugh, Central Otago. As in the vineyard, this wine was hand crafted using traditional methods and then was bottled early to ensure all the integrity and vitality of the wine was preserved.
Vintage Comment: A cooler spring followed by calm weather through flowering achieved positive fruit set for the Two Paddocks vineyards. More than average moisture and less than average grower degree days delayed veraison and resulted in a long slow growing season achieving moderate flavor development in the fruit.
Winemaker’s Notes: The inaugural Riesling release under the Two Paddocks banner. Crafted from a tiny half-hectare block at Two Paddocks Redbank Vineyard at Earnscleugh, Central Otago, which consistently produces the best Riesling on the estate. All grapes are grown using sustainable principles.
Freshly cut nectarine, lime and white peach stone aromatics. This wine displays a viscous textural palate showing lots of stone fruit flavors, density and persistence.
