Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate Reviews 2010 Proprietor's Reserves

To the delight of The Proprietor JM writes:

great-reviewsAll here happy to see the micro-produced The First Paddock 2010 busting out a 93+ points and the even scarcer The Last Chance pulling an admirable 91+ in the latest reviews from Lisa Perrotti-Brown. Sam (The Proprietor) was one of the early believers in Gibbston and so it is always fantastic to see the sub-region being recognised and acknowledged. Also well played by Mike and Dean to produce a 2010 Last Chance from Alexandra – the first time this wine had been bottled since the 2004 vintage. Sam is adamant that these wines are only produced in years when we feel the vineyard is expressing something extraordinary. To illustrate, in 2011 there is no Last Chance and in 2012 there is no First Paddock. Often this is a comment on our own tiny pockets of Central terroir versus a blanket commentary on the vintage conditions of the sub-region. Certainly though a strong commendation to the quality of the 2010 vintage as for the first time in several years there were single vineyard bottlings from both the Gibbston (First Paddock) and Alexandra (Last Chance) vineyards for Two Paddocks. There is very little of this wine about but you can secure a limited amount from our online store or enquire at your local bottle store.
