2005 Picnic Riesling

The label shows the proprietor's grandparents picnicking with friends at Wanaka circa 1920. Happy days.

Grapes from our Redbank vineyard were supplemented with fruit sourced from Nelson to make this delightfully fruity and reductive style of Riesling.

Tangerine skin, lime, melon, ginger, and hints of spice are evident on the nose, with a demonstrated natural balance of sweetness and acidity on the palate, leading to a tangy off dry finish.

Although drinking well in its youth this wine will develop classic Riesling characteristics with bottle age.
