Redbank Vines

This lovely sheltered and warm seventy-acre block was purchased in the Earnscleugh Valley in 2000. It is now primarily a vineyard, but we also regard it as a farm. As a result various other matters keep us preoccupied and happy – dogs, pigs, sheep, lavender, vegetable garden, saffron, truffles and so on.

All of the above are grown organically and certified to our immense, even smug satisfaction.

The core business here is Pinot Noir, and we have planted in smart Burgundian clones - about 20 acres. We are getting close to releasing a premium Pinot from Redbank.

At Redbank, (if you can find it at all) there is a tasting room run with an iron fist by Mark Field. However since the gate says “Private Property” we don’t see many visitors. What a surprise! We rather like the calm.

We also grow our only Riesling here, and we have a still where we distill lavender oil. Warning: the lavender oil, if you wear it, not only helps sleep, enlivens your day and repels mosquitoes; it also makes you irresistible to the opposite sex. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
